Madison Mavericks Update

Volleyball
The Football Team was not the only team beating up opponents in Seguin over the weekend. The Volleyball Team was playing in their last Tourney of the season and came away with an impressive 3rd place finish. After wining all 4 matches on Friday the Mavs Started off Saturday with another win against South San in the quarter finals, dropping the Bobcats 25-10, 25-9. Madison moved on to the Semifinals and had to take on 2A two time defending State Champ Poth. If your familiar with Volleyball you understand that Poth has made a living beating up on 4A and 5A teams in Volleyball over the last 5 years, and is one of the most dominate south Texas programs around. Madison gave the lady Pirates all they could handle in the match and were real close to making the finals. The First Set went to Poth 25-16. The Mavs would fight back and pull out a victory in the second set with a score of 24-26. With the finals in sight the Mavs went toe-to-toe with Poth in the deciding third set but came up just short losing 25-20. Madison Would face Marshall in the Third place match and started out with a bit of a Poth hangover losing 19-25 to the Rams. Madison would right the ship and win out the last two sets 25-21 and 25-14.

The Mavs get back to District play Tuesday night at Littleton Gym against Reagan. Reagan has been on a win streak and just finished off winning the Austin ISD tourney. Madison and Reagan have the early Match on Tuesday with a start time of 5:30pm.

Go Mavs!
