Madison Mavericks Update
August 31, 2007

The Madison Mavericks kicked off their season tonight in all the right ways. 50-0 shut out of a playoff team of a year ago. The Mavs set the tone early and most of the starters did not even see the field in the second half. Devin Thomas had over 190 yards rushing. Bryan Ehrlick was 6-6 passing over 140yards. Eddie Pitts only ran the ball 7 times but scored 3 TDs. Joey Boyd caught 4 passes and two for TDs. The Defense not wanting to be outdone scored a safety, and Sophomore DL Keith Kaut was a few steps away from a fumble recover for a TD.

Mavs don't get much rest as they get O'Connor on Thursday in their Home opener. The O'C is coming off a loss to Reagan and will be looking to right the ship vs Madison.

Madison Mavericks Update
August 30, 2007

JV Football started off the Madison regular season tonight and got out of the gate quickly. Two Mav teams competed this afternoon with both squads coming away with victories. The Madison White squad played MacArthur on the Madison High School upper field. The Mavs shut out Mac to the tune of 14-0. Not to be outdone the Madison Orange team lined up against Seguin. Madison got out to a early lead on some long pass plays to #80. The end of the first quarter saw this young Mav get behind the Matador defenders for a long TD pass, #80 got his second TD on an amazing 1 handed grab going into the end zone and the last grab was on a double pass late in the first half. Madison would go to the ground game in the second half and worked on the clock. After holding Seguin scoreless through three quarters the Mavs finally let the Mats on the board late in the fourth quarter and the game ended 27-8 Madison.

Varsity Football kicks off their season tomorrow night in Seguin. Come out and join all the fun as the Mavs start their run to the playoffs.

Freshman Football kicks off their season Saturday morning in Seguin at 9:30am and 11am.

Madison Photos
A Lot of questions have been raised about the Great photos on the Madison Website from last year. All last year the Madison photographers donated their time and equipment and gave away over 1000 photos of Madison athletes. The Madison Booster Club is proud to announce that they will continue to have photos available for download free of charge again this year. One change that is being made is the Madison photographer/webmaster is accepting donations on this site. You are under no obligation to pay anything for the photos you download, but understand other schools in the area allow their booster club photographers to charge anywhere from $5-$10 for a basic 4x6 print. We do ask that to help keep the photos on this site free for all that want to use them that you consider making a donation to the photographers and a portion will be given back to the booster club. Thanks for your consideration.
